Citi Keeps a $2,100 Target on SanDisk After Micron’s…

Citi reiterated Buy on SanDisk stock with a $2,100 price target after Micron’s fiscal fourth quarter, and SanDisk stock is now trading below where it sat before the note landed. It closed 1 October at $1,787.69, up 2.75% on the day Citi published, and by midday Thursday it was at $1,737.50, down 2.81%.

Analyst Atif Malik’s case rests on one gap. Micron reported NAND prices up roughly 30% in the quarter against a Street consensus near 20%, and SanDisk sells nothing but NAND, which is why a Micron print moves SanDisk stock at all. What the gap did not do was clear Citi’s own bar, because the firm had modeled about 34%.

Citi’s $2,100 Target Is Below the $2,136 Street Average

A reiterated Buy reads as conviction, and the number underneath it is a touch cautious. The average target across 25 analysts covering SanDisk stock is $2,136.54, so Citi is carrying a figure about $37 below the consensus it helps form. FinanceFeeds’ own published scenarios on SanDisk stock run wider on both sides, at $2,354 bull against $1,520 bear and $2,650 bull against $780 bear on a longer horizon.

That distinction matters for anyone reading the “20% upside” framing in circulation. The percentage only reaches 20 because SanDisk stock fell after the call. Measured against the price Citi was looking at, the headroom was closer to 17%.

    Investor Takeaway

Micron’s 30% NAND price increase beat the 20% consensus and missed Citi’s own 34% estimate, so the quarter was strong against the Street and soft against the bull case.

Micron’s 30% NAND Price Rise Beat Consensus of 20% and Missed Citi’s Own 34%

Micron’s chief financial officer Mark Murphy put fiscal Q4 NAND revenue at a record $14.1 billion, up 526% year over year and 42% sequentially, with prices up about 30% and bit shipments up about 10%. Price did roughly three-quarters of the work, which is the detail that decides whether SanDisk stock converts the cycle into margin. FinanceFeeds’ breakdown of that quarter showed the sequential pace halving from Q3, when NAND revenue rose 99% on prices up in the mid-80s percentage range.

Citi reads the deceleration as moderation inside a tight market rather than a turn. The note projects industry NAND bit shipments growing in the mid-20% range in calendar 2027 and 2028, with the industry supply constrained through both years. Micron’s own NAND supply is expected to grow more slowly than the industry in calendar 2026.

One line in the note cuts against the target. Citi’s mid-20% industry bit-growth figure sits above the mid-teens compound rate SanDisk itself has guided the market to expect, so the firm is forecasting more supply than its own company assumes. Tight pricing through 2028 and bit growth running ahead of SanDisk’s planning assumption are not the same bet, and only the first of them supports $2,100.

SanDisk Stock Gave Back the Citi Pop and Then Some

Thursday’s 2.81% fall puts SanDisk stock about $50 below the close that followed the Citi note, and 3.04% lower over five days. The pattern is familiar from June, when SanDisk stock jumped 22% the day after Micron’s fiscal Q3 print and surrendered the entire move inside five sessions, closing at $2,335 on 25 June and $1,745 by 2 July.

Micron is softer too, at $1,081.14 and down 1.48%, after rising about 3% on 1 October. The wider context is that SanDisk stock is still up 611% in 2026 and carries a beta of 3.65, so a two-day round trip on an analyst note is ordinary behavior for this name rather than a signal. Five-day moves of 3% either way have been routine all quarter.

The Supply-Glut Case Is Three Months Old and the Stock Is Lower Than It Was

The bear argument has a named author and a date. On 2 July, Morningstar’s director of research Lorraine Tan argued that announced supply additions from Samsung and SK Hynix would soften memory pricing as supply caught up with demand, with AI capital expenditure peaking in 2026. SanDisk fell 11% to $1,802 that day. SanDisk stock is 3.6% lower now, three months and one record NAND quarter later.

Bank of America took the other side on the same date with a $2,500 target. Between them sit the live questions on this stock, from whether insider sales signal anything to how far TrendForce sees NAND prices moderating. SanDisk reports fiscal Q1 on 29 October, with consensus at $46.11 of earnings per share on $10.63 billion of revenue, and that is where Micron’s pricing either shows up in SanDisk’s margins or does not.

    Investor Takeaway

SanDisk stock at $1,737.50 is 3.6% below the $1,802 it closed at during July’s supply-glut selloff, despite a record Micron NAND quarter in between.
